April in the Markthal: celebrating together, enjoying together
Geschreven door Markthal

April brings a cheerful mix of creativity, tradition and Rotterdam energy to the Markthal. We celebrate Easter with colourful activities for all ages, turn the hall orange for King’s Day and cheer on thousands of runners during the Rotterdam Marathon. A month full of gezelligheid, treats and special moments under the iconic roof of the Markthal.
Celebrate Easter together in the Markthal
We kick off April festively with an Easter weekend full of colour and fun. During the egg‑painting workshop, young and old can unleash their creativity at the Easter tables. The Easter Bunny walks through the hall, hands out treats and creates joyful encounters. A low‑threshold, cosy way to celebrate Easter together — right in the middle of the scents, colours and flavours of the Markthal.
Rotterdam Marathon: come cheer, recharge or unwind
During the Rotterdam Marathon, the city buzzes with energy — and the Markthal joins in. Whether you visit before, during or after the race, you’ll always find something tasty in the hall to refuel. From a good coffee before you head to the route, to a flavourful to‑go lunch while supporting the runners, or a drink to end the day on a festive note. The Markthal is the perfect place to cheer on the runners and soak up the marathon atmosphere.
King’s Day in the Markthal: 5× Orange
On King’s Day, the Markthal turns orange. Especially for this festive day, we’ve put together a cheerful selection of orange treats. Think of:
- Orange nachos from Obba’s — crispy, spiced and perfect for sharing
- Orange curry from Punjabi — warm, aromatic and surprisingly festive
- Ice cream with orange whipped cream from De IJssalon — a sweet royal treat
- Orange cheese from Cheese & More — ideal for a borrel board with a Dutch wink
- Orange smoothie from Heavenly Smoothies — fresh, fruity and fully in style
Whether you’re here to shop, enjoy a drink or simply soak up the atmosphere: in the Markthal, you’ll experience April at its tastiest.
